2016 Etna DOC Rosso "Contrada Santo Spirito - 466", Sicily, Italy

Tart, firm and deep, somewhat dried-herbal, slightly floral, delicately smoky and reminiscent of iron and rust, red and black berries, Amarena cherries and a hint of bacon. Ripe, firm and concentrated, juicy, youthful fruit, nutty and slightly chocolaty aromas, some bite, fine, friable but still present tannin, slightly smoky on the palate, some coffee and again a hint of rust, dense and persistent, good depth, a little dried tomato in the background, fleshy nuances, spicy, still young, complex, very good to long, juicy, spicy and very mineral finish
