2018 Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Tuscany, Italy

Nutty, undergrowthy and fleshy nose of predominantly black berries with a little tomato and plum as well as earthy and bitterly herbal notes. Warm fruit with slightly chocolaty, nutty and bitterish herbal flavours, present, somewhat drying tannin, noticeable alcohol, not very deep, a hint of salt in the background, good, tart, again drying finish with clearly herbal notes, slightly reminiscent of spinach and camphor.
