2016 Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Riserva, Tuscany, Italy

Deep, relatively tart, yet fine, almost beguiling aroma of ripe black and red berries with some tar, tobacco and Brazil nut, floral nuances and a hint of iodine. Ripe, dense, rather juicy, quite polished fruit, very fine tannin, nutty and somewhat toasty wood notes with chocolaty tones, dried-vegetable to herbal nuances, hints of tar, a touch of citrus zest, restrained power, excellent depth, very complex, certain acidity, salt in the background, hints of iron, fine marmalade traces, but also freshness in the long, taut, juicy and spicy finish. Great.
