Somewhat animalic scent of predominantly black berries with a hint of plums, tarry notes, juniper and a little tobacco. Firmly woven, dark, tangy fruit with some toasty wood aromas and present, still drying tannins, again a little juniper on the palate, hints of tar and liquorice, good substance and persistence, has power, animal traces, Mediterranean herbs and tobacco in the background, some coffee and chocolate in the very good finish.

Best to drink: 2021-2027+. What our ratings mean
