The winery is located in Saint-Émilion in the area of the same name (Bordeaux). Five estates, which are now located close to each other, with the Corbin part of their name, once belonged to a single estate whose origins go back to the 15th century. According to legend, the area bordering Pomerol once belonged to the Prince of Wales and Edward von Woodstock (1330-1376), known as the "Black Prince". It is owned by the Despagne family in the seventh generation, whose winegrowing history dates back to the 17th century. The farm is classified as "Grand Cru Classé", which was last confirmed in 2012. The vineyards cover 24 hectares with Merlot (75%), Cabernet Franc (23%), Cabernet Sauvignon (1%) and Malbec (1%). The long-lasting red wine matures for 18 months in partly new barriques. The second wine is called "Petit Corbin-Despagne".
