2001 Valtellina Superiore DOCG Prestigio, Lombardy, Italy

Ripe red berries on the nose, wilted flowers, some plums and undergrowth with mineral notes, roasted nose with some oak. Mature fruit in the mouth, warm style with plums and red berries, more wilted flowers and undergrowth, with smoky and roasted oak, unfortunately also rather dry oak tannins, creamy on the palate, mineral notes, good finish, but somewhat astringent.
