2007 Benaco Bresciano IGT "Giomè", Lombardy, Italy

Cassis on the nose, blackcurrant leaves, undergrowth, earthy, spicy and slightly stalky notes. Fairly uncomplicated, rustic style, very slightly sweetish, quite gentle cassis fruit, hints of blueberries and blackcurrant jelly, some herbaceous notes, slightly prominent, fairly well integrated tannins, already pleasant to drink, attractive finish. Uncomplicated in the positive sense, no frills, a blend typical of the varietals.
