1999 Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Riserva, Tuscany, Italy

Clean aromas of red and black berry preserves, sweet cherries and some wilted flowers, dominated by lots of new wood after aeration. Fruity and quite strongly dominated by oak, with tart, rough and astringent tannins, light mineral notes on the palate, the heavy oak makes for an astringent finish.
