2017 Brunello di Montalcino DOCG "Vigna Piaggia", Tuscany, Italy

Aroma of ripe, more black than red berries with medicinal herbal notes as well as some tar, tobacco, nutty tones and hints of bread spices. Firmly woven, tangy fruit, smoky, tobacco and again a little dried herbal aromas, slightly ethereal on the palate, persistent, taut, youthful tannin, lots of power, noticeable alcohol, very good, firm, tart finish with slightly bitterish cocoa and coffee notes.
