The winegrowers' cooperative in the municipality of Neckenmarkt in the Austrian wine-growing region of Central Burgenland was founded in 1968. The responsible cellar master is Gerald Wieder, chairman is Franz Heincz. The vineyards managed by 140 members cover a total of 300 hectares in the Himmelsthron, Hochberg and Sonnensteig vineyards. Almost exclusively red wine varieties are cultivated. The clear main variety is (60%), followed by Zweigelt (30%), Cabernet Sauvignon,Pinot Noir, Syrah and Merlot. On about 40 hectares of the vineyards, the so-called "8 Grape Program" has been applied since 1992, with the help of which the yields have been reduced to 5,000 to a maximum of 6,000 kilograms per hectare. A total of 45 companies have agreed to participate in this quality programme. Their vineyards, which must be at least 30 years old and located in the best areas of the Hochberg vineyard, are controlled throughout the year. The flagship of the winery is the red wine "Potio Magica" (magic potion) which has been produced 100% from the Blaufränkisch variety since the 2008 vintage. Other wines are Blaufränkisch Himmelsthron, the Cuvée Via Romana (40% BF, 40% CS, 20% ZW), as well as the series "Vinis Unitis" (classic) and "Terra Cognita" (barrique). The Winzerkeller Neckenmarkt is a member of the association Blaufränkischland Mittelburgenland.
