The "Winzerhof Gussek" is located in the town of Naumburg in the German Saale-Unstrut
wine growing region. It was founded in 1993 by Andre Gussek, who had been cellarmaster at the winery Kloster Pforta
for twenty years until 2002. The vineyards cover six hectares of vineyards in the individual locations Dachsberg
(Kaatschen) and Steinmeister
(Naumburg). They are planted 70% with the white wine varieties Müller-Thurgau (30%), Riesling, Silvaner (some of which were planted in 1927), Pinot Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Kerner, Traminer and Pinot Gris, and 30% with the red wine varieties Zweigelt, Pinot Noir and Portugieser. The majority of the wines are dry vinified. The red wines are aged in barriques. In suitable years also noble sweet wines are produced. Every year, on the penultimate weekend in June, a wine and farm festival is held at the winery, to which painters, photographers, draughtsmen and collectors are invited to present their view of the culture surrounding wine to the guests.
