Description to Valcamonica IGP
IGT area (country wines) for white wines and red wines in the Italian region of Lombardy. It covers 22 hectares of vineyards in numerous municipalities in the province of Brescia. Grape varieties authorised in the region may be used. The main grape varieties are Manzoni Bianco, Müller-Thurgau and Riesling (Bianco), as well as Marzemino and Merlot (Rosso). The rest can be other authorised varieties. Varietal wines must contain at least 85% of the variety in question, up to 15% may be other varieties. Different for each wine type, a minimum alcohol content is prescribed, but no ageing period.
