Description to Sambuca di Sicilia DOC

DOC area for red wines, rosé wines and white wines in the Italian region of Sicily. The zone includes the municipality of Sambuca di Sicilia in the province of Agrigento. If the grapes come from classified vineyards, Vigna can be indicated followed by the name of the vineyard

The pure wines must contain at least 85% of the respective variety, a maximum of 15% can be other approved wines. The white wines are Ansonica(Inzolia), Chardonnay and Grecanico(Garganega). The red wines are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Nero d'Avola, Sangiovese and Syrah.

The Bianco is produced from Ansonica (50%) and other authorised varieties (max. 50%). The Passito is produced from Ansonica (zum. 50%), as well as Grillo and Sauvignon = Sauvignon Blanc (max. 50%). The Rosso and Rosato wines are produced from Nero d'Avola (50%), as well as other approved varieties (max. 50%). All red wines are also available as Riserva.
