Description to Saint-Sardos AOP
The appellation is located on the left bank of the Garonne southwest of Montauban in the winegrowing region of southwest France. The former VDQS area was classified as AOP in 2011. The vineyards cover over 100 hectares of vines. The red and rosé wines are blended from Syrah, Tannat, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. It is the only appellation where Syrah and Tannat are permitted together.
