Description to Rully AOC
Communal appellation in French Burgundy in the north of the large area of Côte Chalonnaise. It covers the eponymous commune of Rully and part of Chagny. The vineyards cover around 350 hectares of vines at an altitude of 250 to 300 metres above sea level, of which around 100 hectares are in over 20 Premier Cru sites. These include Agneux, Chapitre, Grésigny, La Bressande du Château, La Fosse, Les Champs Cloux, Les Cloux, Les Margotés, Les Montpalais, Les Pierres, Les Préaux, Marissou, Molesme, Pillot, Rabourcé, Raclot and Vauvry. The storable red wines are produced from Pinot Noir with small proportions of Pinot Gris, Pinot Liébault and Gamay, the white wines from Chardonnay with small proportions of Aligoté. Well-known producers are Domaine de Chèvremont, Domaine Vincent Dureuil-Janthial, Domaine de la Folie and Domaine de la Renarde.
