Description to Rubicone IGT
IGT area (country wines) for white, red and rosé wines in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna. It covers 4,150 hectares of vineyards in the provinces of Forlé-Cesena, Ravenna and Rimini as well as 10 municipalities in the province of Bologna. The Grechetto Gentile variety may be used to a limited extent; these are the 10 municipalities in the province of Bologna and 4 municipalities in the province of Ravenna. Grape varieties authorised in the region may be used. Varietal wines must contain at least 85% of the variety in question, up to 15% may be other varieties. Dual varietal wines must be blended from at least 50% of the main grape variety and a maximum of 50% of other grape varieties. For the wines, a minimum alcohol content is prescribed for each wine type, but no ageing periods.
