Description to Richebourg AOC
Grand Cru vineyard in the municipality of Vosne-Romanée in the Côte de Nuits region (Burgundy). The vineyard was founded by the Cistercians in the Middle Ages. The vineyards cover eight hectares at 260 to 280 metres above sea level on clay-limestone soils with numerous heat-retaining limestones that ensure good drainage. Richebourg lies between the Premier Cru sites Aux Brulées (north), Cros Parantoux, Les Petits Monts, Aux Reignots (west) and the Grand Crus Romanée-Saint-Vivant (east) and La Romanée and Romanée-Conti (south).
Richbourg is divided into the two lieu-dits (parcels) Les Véroilles (also known as Les Varoilles sous Richebourgs) and Les Richebourg. Only single-varietal red wine made from 100% Pinot Noir is produced here.

Ten producers share the site, including Albert Bichot (Domaine du Clos Frantin), Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Grivot, Anne Gros, J. Gros, Hudelot-Noellat, Domaine Leroy and Méo-Camuzet.
