Description to Quatourze AOC
The Languedoc-Quatourze appellation is located in the southwest of the French wine-growing region of Languedoc. Adjacent to the east is the AOC La Clape. The former VDQS area was classified as an AOC in 2011 and belongs to the second quality category "Grands Vins du Languedoc". The vineyards cover 80 hectares of vines on quartz pebble and sandstone soils. They are located around the municipality of Narbonne in the Département of Aude. The red wine is blended from at least 2 of the 3 main grape varieties Grenache Noir (Garnacha Tinta), Mourvèdre (Monastrell) and Syrah, as well as Carignan Noir (Mazuelo), Cinsaut and Llladoner Pelut (Garnacha Peluda).
