Patrimonio AOC |
Description to Patrimonio AOC
Named after the commune of the same name, this appellation in the very north of the French island of Corsica stretches from the Gulf of Saint-Florent west of Bastia to the south. It partly overlaps with the AOC area Muscat du Cap Corse. The vineyards cover 420 hectares of vines on limestone soils. The red and rosé wines, over 80% of which are produced, are made from at least 90% Nielluccio (Sangiovese), as well as Grenache Noir (Garnacha Tinta), Sciaccarello (Mammolo) and Malvoisie (Vermentino). The white wine is made from pure Vermentino grapes. Well-known producers are Antoine Arena, Clos de Bernardi, Domaine de Catarelli, Domaine Gentile, Domaine Giacometti, Domaine Leccia, Clos Marfisi, Clos Montemagni, Orenga de Gaffory, Domaine Pastricciola, Domaine Aliso Rossi and Clos Teddi.
