Description to Orléans-Cléry AOC

The appellation is located in the French wine-growing region Loire. The former VDQS area, which was created in 2002 from the Orléanais area, was classified in September 2006. The vineyards cover 130 hectares of vineyards in the six communes of Checy, Cléry St. André, Mareaux-aux-Prés, Mézières les Cléry, St. Hilaire and St. Mesmin Olivet in the Loiret department on the left bank of the Loire. The red wines are made from Cabernet Franc and Pinot Meunier. There are also the Coteaux du Giennois and Orléans areas.
