Description to Malvasia di Casorzo d'Asti DOC

DOC area (also Malvasia di Casorzo or Casorzo) for red and rosé wines in the Italian region of Piedmont. The zone covers 53 hectares of vineyards in the municipalities of Altavilla Monferrato, Olivola, Ottiglio and Vignale Monferrato in the province of Alessandria, and Casorzo, Grana and Grazzano in the province of Asti. The Rosso and Rosato(Cerasuolo) wines are made from Malvasia di Casorzo (max. 90%) and any blend of Barbera, Freisa, Grignolino and other authorised varieties (max. 10%). There is also a rosé Spumante and a red coloured Passito.
