Entre-deux-Mers AOC

Description to Entre-deux-Mers AOC

The 23,000-hectare area in the southeast of the Bordeaux region lies between the Garonne and Dordogne rivers. These form the Gironde estuary through their confluence. The name "Between Two Seas" derives from the tide that flows inland from the Atlantic Ocean via the Gironde, which also flows into the two rivers. DFhe Entre-deux-Mers AOC area is only about 2,400 hectares in size. Only dry white wines are permitted, for which the predominantly clay and gravel soil is excellently suited. They are made from Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, Muscadelle (max. 70%), Merlot Blanc (max. 30%), as well as Colombard, Mauzac Blanc and Ugni Blanc = Trebbiano Toscano (max. 10%).
