Description to D.O. Tierra de León
The former Land Wine Division (VdlT) in the Spanish region of Castilla y León was classified as a DO in 2007. The vineyards cover 1,500 hectares of vineyards in the province of León. The red wine varieties Mencía, Garnacha, Tempranillo and (for rosé) Prieto Picudo Tinto are permitted, as well as the white wine varieties Albaríño, Verdejo, Palomino and Malvasía.
