Cote de Brouilly AOC |
Description to Cote de Brouilly AOC
One of the ten cru-sites of the French area Beaujolais, which is an enclave in the middle of the cru-site Brouilly. The vineyards cover 325 hectares of vines and surround the Brouilly hill (an extinct volcanic cone). The special soil structure of granite and blue-green slate is known here as "Cornes vertes" (green horn). The red wines are made from the Gamay variety. The full-bodied, powerful wines are considered to be even more long-lasting than those from Brouilly.
