Description to Colli Maceratesi DOC
DOC area for white wines and red wines in the Italian region of Marche. It covers the entire province of Macerata, as well as the municipality of Loreto in the province of Ancona. The Bianco (also called Passito and Spumante) is blended from Ribona = Maceratino (to 70%), in any use of Incrocio Bruni 54, Pecorino, Trebbiano Toscano, Verdicchio Bianco, Chardonnay, Sauvignon = Sauvignon Blanc, Malvasia Bianca Lunga and Grechetto di Orvieto (max. 30%), as well as other varieties (max. 15%).
The Rosso (also as Novello and Riserva) is produced from Sangiovese (max. 50%), in any use of the varieties Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Ciliegiolo, Lacrima = Lacrima di Morro d'Alba, Merlot, Montepulciano and Vernaccia Nera = Garnacha Tinta (max. 50%), as well as other permitted varieties (max. 15%). The single-varietal wines Ribona (also as Passito and Spumante) and Sangiovese must contain at least 85% of the respective variety, as well as a maximum of 15% of other varieties.
