Cerons AOC |
Description to Cerons AOC
Named after the village of the same name, the appellation covers some 120 hectares and is located as an enclave in the large area of Graves (Bordeaux) on the Rive gauche. It includes the municipalities of Illsats and Podensac. Predominantly, noble sweet white wines from Sauvignon Blanc with a little Sémillon and Muscadet are produced, which are somewhat milder than in neighbouring Sauternes. The wines may also be marketed under the AOC Graves. Well known wineries are Château Archambeau, Château de Cérons et de Calvimont, Château Grand Enclos, Château Haura, Château Huradin and Domaine du Hauret-Lalande.
