Cerons AOC |
Description to Cerons AOC
Named after the village of the same name, this appellation of around 120 hectares is located as an enclave in the large Graves(Bordeaux) area on the Rive gauche. It includes the municipalities of Illsats and Podensac. Mainly noble sweet white wines are produced from Sauvignon Blanc with some Sémillon and Muscadet, which are somewhat milder than in neighbouring Sauternes. The wines may also be marketed under the AOC Graves. Well-known wineries are Château Archambeau, Château de Cérons et de Calvimont, Château Grand Enclos, Château Haura, Château Huradin and Domaine du Hauret-Lalande.
