Castel San Lorenzo DOC

Description to Castel San Lorenzo DOC

DOC area for white, red and rosé wines in the Italian region of Campania. The zone completely covers the municipalities of Bellosguardo, Castel San Lorenzo and Felitto, and parts of the municipalities of Aquara, Castelcivita, Magliano Vetere, Ottati and Roccadaspide. The Bianco is blended from Trebbiano Toscano (50-60%), Malvasia Bianca di Candia (30-40%), and other authorised varieties (max. 20%). Rosso and Rosato are produced from Barbera (60-80%), Sangiovese (20-30%) and other authorised varieties (max. 20%). The pure wines must contain at least 85% of the respective variety. This is the white wine Moscato = Muscat Blanc (also as Lambiccato, Passito and Spumante), and the red wines Aglianicone and Barbera (both also as Riserva). For all three wines, the DOC label can also be preceded by the grape variety, for example Aglianicone di Castel San Lorenzo.
