Description to Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits AOC
Regional appellation in Burgundy (France) for red, rosé and white wines. It is a narrow area 20 kilometres long and less than one kilometre wide. The vineyards cover 700 hectares of vines (580 of which are for red and rosé wines) on limestone, marl and clay in 20 communes in the north of the Côte d'Or department. The red and rosé wines are mainly made from Pinot Noir and up to a maximum of 15% Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris, the white wines from mostly 100% Chardonnay and possibly Pinot Blanc.
