Blagny AOC |
Description to Blagny AOC
The appellation is named after the municipality of the same name and is located in the Côte de Beaune part of the Burgundy Côte d'Or. About half of the commune area is made up of two neighbouring communes. Of the 54 hectares of vineyards, only seven are defined for red wines under AC Blagny, which are produced from Pinot Noir with shares of Pinot Gris and Pinot Liébault. An alternative AC denomination is Blagny-Côte de Beaune. There are a total of six Premier Cru sites. The large rest of the vineyards are planted with Chardonnay. White wines from these are marketed (depending on which of the two communes they are located in) as Premiers Crus Meursault or Puligny-Montrachet.
