The cross-regional area covers four hectares of vineyards in 15 municipalities in the two provinces of Pordenone (Friuli-Venezia Giulia) and Treviso (Veneto). Grape varieties authorised in the regions may be used. Varietal wines must contain at least 85% of the variety in question, up to 15% may be other varieties. Dual-varietal wines are produced from at least 50 to 85% of the main grape variety and a maximum of 15 to 50% of other varieties. For the wines, a minimum alcohol content is prescribed for each wine type, but no maturation period.
