2015 Riesling, Franconia/Franken, Germany

Vegetable, earthy and slightly smoky, spicy oak with restrained, yellow fruit aromas and a hint of green tobacco. Sweet, partly candied fruit, smoky oak and more earthy and vegetal notes, quite prominent acidity, sandy, slightly astringent tannins, in the background tobacco, potato peels and legumes, a little rustic style, good persistence, cool, tart mineral notes in the background, has substance, but nothing really fits together here, good, at the same time sweet and tart finish. Uncertain prognosis.
