2019 Landwein "Gestad", Baden, Germany

Quite firm and deep, somewhat smoky-reductive, nutty, tobacco and dried-herbal scent of predominantly dark berries with a hint of pepper, tarragon and meat juice. Clear, firm, dark, juicy, ripe fruit with a slight acid bite, a hint of cocoa and nuances reminiscent of Provence herbs, youthful, yet very fine tannin, slightly nutty wood tones, dense and persistent, some depth, hints of mustard seed, dried flowers and bacon, salty minerality, very good, animating, juicy finish with traction.
