The winery is located in the municipality of Laumersheim (Mittelhaardt/Deutsche Weinstraße area) in the German wine-growing region of Pfalz. The family, rich in tradition, has been growing grapes for four generations. Until the mid-1990s, it was a mixed agricultural business. When Mario Zelt took over after his oenology studies in Geisenheim and internships in France, Austria and South Africa, they switched to exclusively viticulture, which involved, among other things, replanting the vineyards. The vineyards cover 12 hectares of vineyards in the single vineyard sites Goldberg (Bissersheim), Hergottsacker and Mandelpfad (Dirmstein), Burgweg (Großkarlbach), as well as Kirschgarten and Steinbuckel (Laumersheim). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscat, as well as with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Pinot Noir, Dornfelder, St. Laurent and Merlot. The wines are produced in the estate wines and single vineyard lines. For the white wines, the grapes are pressed after a different maceration period and ripen on the fine lees for several months after temperature-cooled fermentation. The red wines mature in used or new barriques after classic maceration. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced. The winery is in the talent pool of the VDP
