The family winery is located in the community of Sulzfeld (Maindreieck area) in the German wine growing region of Franconia. In 1970, the former tithe house from 1558 was acquired by Theo Luckert. Today the estate is run by brothers Ulrich and Wolfgang Luckert and their families.
The vineyards comprise 17 hectares of vineyards in the individual locations Maustal and Sonnenberg as well as Berg I (a fillet of beef in the individual location Cyriakusberg). They are planted with the white wine varieties Silvaner with the four varieties yellow, green, red and blue Silvaner (50% of the stock),Pinot Blanc, Müller-Thurgau, Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and MuscatBlanc, as well as the red wine varietiesPinot Noir, Domina, Frühburgunder, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. In a small vineyard called Creutz, there are ancient vines that date back to 1875. In order to reduce the yield, all vines are grown in a cordon system. All vineyards are naturally greened. In 2013 the complete conversion to organic farming was completed.
The white wines are fermented spontaneously and aged in traditional wooden barrels with 700 to 5,000 litres. The red wines mature in after the mash fermentation. The wines are only minimally sulphured and bottled without filtration. The wines are marketed according to the VDP classification model. The premium wines include the VDP.Große Gewächse from the Maustal of Riesling, Silvaner & Spätburgunder, Creutz Sylvaner *** and Unter der Mauer *** (grape cuvée from Silvaner and Riesling) as well as Sonnenberg Frühburgunder *** and Grand Noir *** (Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot). Around 100,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. Fine spirits(marc, fruit, blackthorn) are also produced. The winery is a member of the Bioverband Naturland and the VDP.
