2015 Süd-Steiermark Ried Edelschuh Sauvignon Blanc trocken, Styria/Steiermark, Austria

Firm and quite deep, clearly vegetal fragrance with white, yellow and green fruity nuances, a little blackcurrant leaf and mushroomy tones. Ripe, dense fruit with tart vegetal spice, smoky and nutty notes and hints of black berries, very fine acidity, grip of crumbly tannin, moderate barrel tones, has power, substance and flavour, persistent, mineral in the background, tart nutty tones, some aniseed, very good, firm, dense finish, again with noticeable alcoholic strength.

Editor note: cool nose, still closed, light yeasty notes, prominent vegetal and herbaceous aromas, restrained yellow and green fruit, hint of elderflower, light earthy and mineral notes. Firm, ripe yellow fruit on the palate, vegetal and herbaceous notes, fairly prominent spicy aromas, lively, elegant acidity, compact structure, deep and complex, medium body, slightly noticeable warm alcohol, earthy and salty mineral no0tes, still largely undeveloped, nutty traces, hint of tobacco in the background, touch of anise, has some finesse, but also quite full-bodied and creamy, very good long, complex finish.
