2013 Süd-Steiermark Ried Edelschuh Sauvignon Blanc trocken, Styria/Steiermark, Austria

Clear, quite deep, firm white and green fruity nose with a touch of passion fruit, vegetal to herbal aromas, citrus tones, black berry notes, some minerality and floral nuances. Ripe, firm, tart, bright fruit again, very fine acidity and some grip of friable tannin, floral and herbal nuances, a hint of black berries, persistent, restrained power, compact structure, good depth, nutty hints, distinct minerality, some grip, very good, firm, tart, at the same time slightly warm and melting finish with persistence. Becomes more complex and expressive with air, without ever becoming loud.

Editor note: Translate to English Ziemlich fester, kühler, sehr geschliffener, dabei vielschichtiger, etwas herb-pflanzlicher Zitrusduft mit einem Hauch Kernobst, feinen grünb-und schwarzbeerigen Aromen, etwas weißen Johannisbeeren und deutlicher Mineralik. Reintönige, feinsaftige und straff gewirkte Frucht im Mund, wieder sehr geschliffen, hochfeine, lebhafte Säure, kräuterig-pflanzliche Aromen und etwas Holunderblüte, nachhaltig, gewisse Tiefe, eleganter Stil, im Hintergrund Mineralik, sehr guter, saftiger Abgang. Erstklassig.
