The main winery is located in the municipality of Kitzeck-Fresing in the Austrian wine-growing region of southern Styria. It has been family-owned since 1803 and is now run by the seventh generation of Gerhard and Maria Wohlmuth. The eldest son Gerhard jun. and his girlfriend Marion are also an integral part of the family business. Gerhard Wohlmuth Jr. gained experience at wineries in Italy, New Zealand and South Africa, among other places. The vineyards in Kitzeck-Fresing cover 35 hectares in the Altenberg, Edelschuh, Einöd, Gola, Sausaler Schlössl and Steinriegel vineyards. They are 75% planted with the white wine varieties Welschriesling, Gelber Muskateller, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer and Riesling, and 25% with the red wine varieties Zweigelt, Pinot Noir, Blaufränkisch, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. There is a consistent yield restriction with between 32 and 45 hl/ha depending on the variety. Depending on the wine type, the wines are matured in stainless steel tanks, large wooden barrels or in barriques. The product range also includes Schilcher, kosher wines, noble brandies and bottle-fermented sparkling wines.
In 2005, another vineyard in Styria was acquired at Großlage Steinbach near Gamlitz. On the up to 55% steep slopes, the varieties Welschriesling, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Gelber Muskateller are cultivated. Since 2003, the Wohlmuth family has also owned vineyards in Neckenmarkt in the DAC area of Mittelburgenland. These cover around ten hectares in the two renowned vineyards Hochberg and Rabenkropf. The wines are fermented in Neckenmarkt and then brought to the Styrian parent estate for ageing. The labels are designed by artists every year. The winery is a member of the associations "Steirischer Weincluster" and Steirische Terroir & Klassikweingüter.
