2011 Westhofen Kirchspiel Riesling Grosses Gewächs trocken, Rheinhessen, Germany

Relatively tart, somewhat floral and slightly vegetal stone fruit-citrus scent with a hint of candy and light mineral tones. Ripe, tightly knit, rather juicy fruit, delicate nutty and vegetal tones, very fine acidity, persistent on the palate, a little sweet melting, very delicate grip, has substance and power but no heaviness, slightly sweet melting, salt and also chalky nuances in the background, certain freshness, good depth, excellent balance, very good, again decidedly juicy finish with light minerality.
