2011 Westhofen Aulerde Riesling Grosses Gewächs trocken, Rheinhessen, Germany

Firm and deep, somewhat sweet, slightly floral and a hint of waxy scent of ripe stone fruit and citrus fruits with fine herbal-vegetal and hints of smoky notes as well as distinct minerality. Ripe, juicy, rather tightly knit fruit, noticeable sweetness, but also tart, slightly nutty, herbal and again clearly mineral spice, lots of power, melting, but also quite present acidity and grip, delicate red berry nuances, good depth, has tension, a hint of caramel in the background, very good to long, dense finish with sweet juice, lots of bite and tart minerality.
