2001 Westhofen Aulerde Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese, Rheinhessen, Germany

Intense, still undeveloped aromas of apricots and peaches, with notes of candied citrus fruit. Creamy fruit, tremendously sweet, juicy, taut acidity with elegant honey notes, very concentrated, persistent on the palate, some herbs and spices in the background, not yet showing clearly where this wine is headed, very long, creamy, fruity finish with honeyed notes. Cautious assessment.
