2011 Kanzem Altenberg Riesling Grosses Gewächs trocken, Mosel, Germany

Surprisingly cool nose of partly candied citrus fruits and stone fruits with vegetal, very slightly yellow-spicy, floral and herbal nuances. Ripe, juicy, partly candied, then also warm fruit, fine acidity and some grip, candy tones, a hint of wax and some yellow spice, persistent, lots of power, good depth, distinct minerality, very good, firm, sweetish-juicy finish with grip, lots of minerality and candy notes. Not quite as impressive as in its youth, also because the tension has diminished and sweetness and alcohol therefore assert themselves more strongly, but still excellent.
