The "Sekt- und Weingut Stephan Fischer" is located in the community of Zell-Merl (area Burg Cochem - Terrassenmosel) in the German Mosel wine growing region. The business has a tradition of more than 300 years and is now managed by Stephan Fischer in the tenth generation of the family. The vineyards cover three hectares of vineyards in the slate steep slopes of Burglay-Felsen and Nussberg (Zell). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling,Pinot Blanc and PinotGris. These are vines with true roots. Quality-promoting measures in the vineyard are short pruning, fertilization, soil cultivation and defoliation of the grape zone. Only physiologically ripe and healthy grapes are harvested by hand. The wines are matured on the for a long period of time in a manner that is typical of the variety and location. A speciality of the house are bottle-fermented sparkling wines produced since 1989.
