The winery is located in the municipality of Langenlois in the Lower Austrian wine growing region of Kamptal. It was founded in 1938 by the father of the current owner. As a career changer, he attended the viticulture school in Krems and was the first in the community to promote the wine production of Lenz Moser III. (1905-1978) propagated high culture. Today the estate is managed by Karl and Brigitte Steininger. In 2003 the Loisium Wine Experience World was opened on the estate's grounds, with cellar corridors connected to the winery cellar. The Steiningers belong to the three shareholder families. The vineyards comprise 35 hectares of vineyards in the Heiligenstein, Spiegel, Steinhaus and Koglberg areas. They are planted to 80% with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner (50%), Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Traminer and Muskateller, and to 20% with the red wine varieties Zweigelt, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon.
A speciality of the house are wines from the main variety Grüner Veltliner. Therefore, the Grüner Veltliner and also the Rieslings and Kamptal DAC Reserve belong to the premium wines. Karl Steininger got the animo for the production of sparkling wines during a visit in . The sparkling wine production, which began in 1989, is now an essential part of the business. The aim is to produce sparkling wine with the typical character of the individual varieties of the region. The highest value is placed on the best quality of the base wines. The sparkling wine is bottled according to the traditional bottle fermentation method. The range includes Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Grüner Veltliner, Traminer, Cabernet Sauvignon (rosé) and Zweigelt, as well as a Burgundy cuvée of Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir.
