The winery of the Johannes and Johanna Gebeshuber family is located in the community of Gumpoldskirchen in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region Thermenregion. For centuries, the autochthonous variety has been called Zierfandler in Gumpoldskirchen Spätrot (Late Red). The name is derived from the reddish colour of its berries when fully ripe. The Gebeshuber family's winery bears the same name for this reason, as they have specialised in both Zierfandler and Rotgipfler varieties. The company is located in the traditional Lueger Cellar, which was built in 1905 by the Mayor of Vienna Dr. Karl Lueger (1844-1910). At that time it served as a branch of the Vienna Town Hall Cellar and was later the centre of the former Gumpoldskirchen winegrowers' cooperative - the oldest in Austria. Today the building also houses a viticulture museum, the large wooden barrel cellar is used for presentations on wine and tastings

Our own vineyards cover 20 hectares of vineyard area. Grapes are purchased from a further 20 hectares of vineyards in accordance with strict quality criteria. The vineyards are cultivated according to special quality standards in a natural way. The harvest is carried out exclusively by hand. Through appropriate selection, only healthy, ripe grapes are processed. The white wines are made from the grape varieties Zierfandler and Rotgipfler and the red wines from the Burgundy varieties St. Laurent and Pinot Noir. Both are vinified in the three categories Classic, Reserve and Great Reserve. The wines are fermented at a controlled temperature in steel tanks or in large and small wooden barrels. The winery is a member of the winegrowers' association Thermenwinzer.
