2019 Leimen Herrenberg Blaufränkisch Grosses Gewächs trocken "Spermen R", Baden, Germany

Firm and dense, smoky, woody, delicately bacony and fleshy-animalic aroma of ripe black berries with distinct floral aromas, mushrooms ethereal herbs, some pepper, forest floor and juniper. Ripe, firm, tart, juicy fruit, has power but also polish and a certain coolness, toasty and smoky wood notes, some mushrooms, pepper and herbs, youthful, quite fine tannin, some bite, hints of charcoal, ethereal and slightly resinous tones, very good, tangy, tight, complex finish. Still has time.
