The winery is located in the community of Dürnstein
in the Lower Austrian wine growing region Wachau
. When the winery was taken over in 1984, a long winegrowing tradition was continued, which can be traced back to 1711. In the years 1993 to 1995 the cellar facilities were newly built. The business is managed by Johann Schwarz. The vineyards comprise 3.5 hectares of vineyards in the areas Frauengärten, Grund, Loibenberg
, Loibner Sätzen and Schreiberberg. They are planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner (over 50%), Riesling and Chardonnay. The grapes are gently processed. After the manual harvest no pumps are used until the pressing. The musts are fermented cool in steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The winery is a member of the Vinea Wachau Nobilis Districtus
wine growers' association. The in-house distillery also produces fine spirits (glöger, apricot, marc), as well as vintner truffles, a confection of dark chocolate and Wachau apricot brandy.
