The winery is located in the community of Dobermannsdorf near Poysdorf in the northeast of the Lower Austrian wine growing region Weinviertel. The family has been growing wine since 1686. In 1970 Leopold and Marianne Schulz converted the business to quality viticulture. Since the year 2002 it is managed by son Werner. The vineyards cover six hectares of vine area. They are planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner (30%), Pinot Blanc (10%), Welschriesling (10%), Rheinriesling (5%) and Rivaner (4%), as well as the red wine varieties Zweigelt (16%), Blauburger (12%), Cabernet Sauvignon (9%) and Merlot (4%). In addition, grapes from one hectare are purchased. We consistently practice natural viticulture with low yields. The Classic white wines are fermented at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. This includes for example the " Hammer". The Selections-Wines are matured according to international style with barrique use and malolactic. The red wines mature at least one year in large wooden barrels or the premium wines for 16 or 24 months in barriques. In suitable years an ice wine is also pressed. The annual production is about 300 hl. A red wine liqueur is also produced.
