2023 Laufen Weingarten Pinot Noir VDP.Grosses Gewächs trocken "Klosterwingerte", Baden, Germany

Firm and dense, clear, dry, restrained roasted scent of ripe black berries with a hint of leather, floral nuances, a suggestion of bacon, and earthy-underwood undertones. Taut, cool, and dry, rather dark fruit, present, fine tannins and bite, a bit of tobacco, underbrush, and restrained roasted aromas, a touch of tobacco ash and dark chocolate, persistent and dense on the palate, good depth, distinctly salty, still undeveloped, with quite a firm core, very good, taut finish with fresh, dry juice and dark spice. Needs to mature.
