Firm, clearly bitter-chocolatey nose with warm dark-fruity aromas, a hint of red berries, nuts, marzipan and hints of tar. Ripe, partly preserved fruit with bitter chocolate notes and a little coffee, present, somewhat drying tannin, some persistence, beetroot in the background, mushroomy tones, smoky and toasty wood, a little drying and also still a little lactic in the good to very good finish.

Best to drink: 2024-2028+. What our ratings mean
