2021 Monzingen Halenberg Riesling Grosses Gewächs trocken, Nahe, Germany

Firm and deep, yeasty and smoky-reductive aroma of Parmesan, ripe stone fruit and partly candied citrus fruits with black berry nuances, herbs, some egg white, mushrooms and clear minerality. Taut, juicy and dense in the mouth, present, fine acidity and grip, yeasty nuances, smoke, herbaceous-vegetable tones and tart minerality, a little dark background, some depth, again Mediterranean herbs in the background, hints of passion fruit, very good, firm, juicy finish with tension and again grip. Only closes up with air and only shows what it can really do on the third day, becomes nobler, deeper and more complex, develops power from calm and depth.
